Mickey Ferriols revealed she weighed 175 lbs. after giving birth to her son, Brent Marcus Alemania, who is now 15 years old. At that time, the actress found it hard to accept she had to wear two sizes up her regular dress size.
In an episode of GMA-7's health and wellness show, Pinoy MD, Mickey admitted going through depression due to the weight she had put on after her pregnancy.
"Dumaan ako sa depression, na parang 'dati naman hindi naman ganito itsura ko, ano 'tong double chin na nakikita ko ngayon, dati wala naman ito'. 'Yung mga bilbil bigla sila naga-appear," Mickey said.
When her dress size became XL, it pushed Mickey to change her lifestyle and set a weight goal. Mickey started to exercise regularly and lessen her carbohydrates intake. The routine helped her lose weight, and in just two months, she went back to being a size medium.
"'Yung old clothes ko na hindi ko masuot, 'yung mga jeans...ayaw na nila mag-abot 'yung buttons. Doon ko tiningnan, 'teka muna eh bakit parang kasya pa isang tao ngayon dito.' Doon ko na-realize na, 'wait a minute, I am losing weight," Mickey shared.
At 48, Mickey adds she continues to do weighted crunches and leg raises ab routines to prevent her tummy rolls from showing up again.
