New Dad Nico Bolzico Shares Parenting Struggles: 'We're Not Sleeping The Whole Year'Parenting is nice but tough according to the funny man.by Kitty Elicay .
No parent is immune to sleepless nights when caring for a newborn as discovered by new dad Nico Bolzico. In a funny Instagram video to mark their daughter Thylane turning 2 months old, the entrepreneur opened up about his and wife Solenn Heussaff’s parenting struggles — a.k.a. giving up sleep entirely since the arrival of their child.
“Thylane is 2 months today and here we share with you a bit of our journey,” he writes in the caption. “I am pretty sure [a] lot of parents will relate!”ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
At the start of the video, Nico gushes over their daughter. “So, Thylane didn’t sleep the whole night. She’s so cute — it’s the best feeling in the world,” the new dad shares. He adds that while they may feel lost at times, it is still amazing, and he cheekily says, “Parenting, my passion.”CONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos
But as the video progresses, Nico looks more and more exhausted, with his eyes getting darker. Hilariously noting that Thylane has not slept for seven days in a row, he reassures the audience by saying, “it’s fine… It’s about organization — Solenn takes the night, I take the morning… Everything is so amazing, we love it so much.”
By the 30th day, Nico is questioning whether Thylane’s sleeping habits (or lack thereof) is normal and shares that they are going to ask their doctor about it. LOL! Still, the dad manages to say that he and Solenn are ok. “It’s all part of the process… We’re hanging [in] there,” he says.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
At the one-minute mark, Nico looks disgruntled and ready to give up. “We think Thylane won’t sleep anymore,” he sighs. “We’re already getting ready for not sleeping the whole year. 2020, we don’t expect to sleep.”
Echoing all new parents, the funny man adds, “It’s nice, but it’s tough. Nobody told us before having a baby! But yeah, we’re holding it there. It’s good, it’s good… Parenting my passion.” LOL. Oh, Nico!ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
The new dad is quick to clarify that the video was done “for comedy purposes.” In the post’s caption, he reveals what really goes on behind the scenes.
He writes, “During the day, Solenn takes care of Thylane but we do have a night nurse to support us, so this video is [exaggerated] for comedy purposes!”
Nico also says that it’s Solenn who does “94% of what is needed. As I mentioned before, men are merely decoration and we just have to do everything our wives say, not questioning it for a second!” he shares.
Of course, we don’t doubt that Nico also helps out as much as he can. When Solenn was still pregnant, the celebrity dad shared his realizations about the husband's role in supporting his wife. "They can be a bit more sensitive but it is our job to understand and be there to support, show them that they are not alone and that we prioritize them more than anything else!” he wrote in an Instagram post.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Taking care of a newborn is overwhelming, so moms should be able to lean on their partners when the load gets too much to bear. So, great job, Nico!
Just like Solenn, celebrity moms Iya Villania and Isabelle Daza also hired a night nurse when their babies were born. Find out how they can help in taking care of your baby here.
