'Answered Prayer': Vickie Rushton, Jason Abalos Are Expecting Their First Child

Vickie Rushton and Jason Abalos, who got married in September 2022, are having their first child.

The Mutya ng Pilipinas-International 2011 shared the good news via Instagram just before midnight of May 10, 2023.

"The first time we saw you," she said in the caption of her video post showing the ultrasound test. She then quoted a Biblical verse, 1 Samuel 1:27: “For this child we have prayed and the Lord has granted the desires of our hearts.”

Jason commented with three red hearts. The actor also shared his wife's post on his Instagram story.

Congratulatory messages poured in for the first-time parents.

These included from Vickie's fellow beauty pageant queens and models, such as MJ Lastimosa (Miss Universe Philippines 2014), Jehza Huelar (Bb. Pilipinas-Supranational 2018), Katarina Rodriguez (Miss World Philippines 2018), and Samantha Bernardo (Bb. Pilipinas-Grand International 2020).

Also from Vickie and Jason's coworkers and friends from the entertainment industry, like Jessy Mendiola, Hero Angeles, Patrick Garcia, and Melissa Ricks.

In the video shared by Vickie, the baby in her tummy has a detectable heartbeat. This usually happens from Week 5 of pregnancy, but the first-trimester ultrasound is recommended from any time from Week 6 to 9. (Read here for instructions and reminders when going for an ultrasound.)
