Child discipline poses a dilemma to every parent. There's always a question of whether or not you're doing it correctly and most probably, not all of us will see eye to eye on which discipline technique is the best. Although it's tricky, it's absolutely necessary for a parent to teach their children how to discern right from wrong.
There's a broad spectrum when it comes to disciplining children. At the one end lies methods of discipline, which involves punishments and positive reinforcement on the other end. Dimples Romana's choice of discipline method lies somewhere in between that spectrum - making her kids stand in the corner.
On January 11, 2022, the celebrity mom shared on Instagram a video of Alonzo, her youngest child with husband Boyet Ahmee, getting a time out. "When you ask your child to stand in the corner as a form of disciplinary action," the first part of her caption read.
The mom of two did not go into details about what her 6-year-old son did that merit him a time out, but what Alonzo did next surprised Dimples.
"I love that Alonzo feels very comfortable speaking to GOD not only when he is happy but most especially when he feels sad."
"Tapos nakita mo imbis na magalit, magdabog, magkutkot ng paint sa wall (Gaya ko), NAGDADASAL siya. #AlonzoRomeoJose anak naman eh."
Upon seeing her son's reaction, Dimples quipped, "Sa takot namin ni @papaboyetonline kay Lord, napasorry at explain kami eh kay Alonzo."
But really, Dimples' "heart melted" and praised Alonzo for being a "smart boy." The actress also "love that Alonzo feels very comfortable speaking to GOD not only when he is happy but most especially when he feels sad."
When they asked Alonzo what he said in his prayer, he answered, "I asked God if I am a BAD PERSON and if he was disappointed in me mom because I did bad things."
Dimples dismissed any thought of Alonzo being "bad" but explained the importance of disciplining her children, "Jusko Hindi naman talaga bad, pero dito kasi sa amin, bata pa lang we stress out certain moral values na and really implement them by heart."
In the end, Dimples also did not forget to credit his husband's role in raising their children to be God-fearing. He tells Boyet, "Apir @papaboyetonline good job tayo. Pero mas good job ka, mahal."
While parents have different takes on disciplining their children, the end goal is to encourage their little ones to manage both their feelings and behavior. And it looks like Dimples and Boyet are on the right track doing this.
