  • Six months of being cooped up inside the home can be hard for anyone, especially the little ones who have been deprived of their regular activities such as physically going to school and interacting with their peers. It’s why having a routine is more important than ever — you can include different activities and various forms of entertainment in your child’s schedule to keep the smiles on their faces.

Here’s an activity that can help introduce culture and art appreciation to your kids, plus make learning fun: virtual museum tours! If you miss being inside one, you’d be glad to know that museums in the Philippines have found ways to ensure that their collections remain accessible to people who are stuck at home.

The Mind Museum, located in Bonifacio Global City, keeps the love for science alive with their online series called “Mind at Home.” The live video series, hosted on their Facebook page, features cool science tricks and experiments that kids can try for themselves. Your kids will love learning the secret behind optical illusions, how to make a rubber egg, how to make cheese, and more!

If you want your kids to learn more about the arts, the Ayala Museum offers virtual visits through their YouTube channel and online exhibits on their Google Arts & Culture page. Check out their virtual walkthrough of Mark Lewis Lim HigginsGold in Our Veins, which features paintings and artifacts from Indochina, the East Indies, and the Philippines. The exhibit was rendered in 3D, so you’ll feel like you’ve just stepped inside a 1930s Chinese warehouse. They also offer free coloring books and activity guides for kids!
