Sophie Albert and Vin Abrenica have recently expanded their family and are giving followers a glimpse into their new life as a family of four. The married couple, who already share an adorable daughter, Avianna, welcomed their second child last November 13.

In their latest YouTube vlog, Sophie and Vin shared an intimate look at their first 24 hours adjusting to their family’s new chapter.

“Our lives have changed in the most beautiful (and busy) way with the arrival of baby Amara! In this vlog, we’re taking you through 24 hours of adjusting to life with a newborn and a toddler. From juggling their needs to finding our new rhythm, it’s a day filled with love, learning, and little victories. We’re excited to share more of our days as a family of four,” they captioned the video.

In the vlog, Vin and Sophie can be seen navigating their new daily routine, including taking Amara outside for morning sun, preparing breakfast, and making time to care for their eldest, Avianna.

Vin also talked about his wife’s improved breastfeeding journey. This comes after Sophie’s past struggles with low milk supply while nursing Avianna.

“We’re so happy kasi si Sophie, sagana siya sa gatas ngayon. Kasi with Ava back then, medyo nahirapan kami sa breastfeeding journey namin; kasama ako.”

“I don’t know kung anong nangyari pero [baka] sa supply, [may] mali sa latch. Si Ava kasi she was a colic baby, may GERD (acid reflux) pa, tapos mayroon siyang tongue-tie,” he explained.

However, Vin noted that after Sophie underwent lactation massages, her milk supply significantly improved. “Mangiyak-ngiyak kami, as in sobrang nakakatuwa,” he said with joy.

Sophie had already confirmed the good news in a previous Instagram Story, where she shared a photo of breast pumps with the caption: “From the major heartache and trauma of not being able to produce milk for Avianna when she was a baby to now nursing Amara and having a bit of extra to store. Tears of gratitude. Thank you, Lord!”

Sophie’s Breastfeeding Journey

With Avianna, despite doing everything she could, including eating all the right foods, Sophie faced various challenges with her milk supply.

In an interview with Smart Parenting from 2021, she said, “I talked to so many lactation consultants, and my milk supply just kept going down. Instead of it increasing, it just kept going down.”

“So I was really, like, forcing my body to produce the milk 'cause I was so adamant that I didn't want her to drink formula, and it was driving me crazy,” she added.

Sophie also revealed feeling pressure to breastfeed, saying, “I feel like some people measure your ability of being a good mom by if you're breastfeeding or not. Like, I really do feel that.”

Fortunately, the celebrity mom won't have to feel the crushing guilt of not being able to breastfeed her second baby, as her milk supply has now increased thanks to lactation massage.

What is Lactation Massage for Breastfeeding?

Lactation massage is a hands-on technique that helps promote milk flow and supports breastfeeding. It’s especially helpful when milk first comes in to prevent engorgement, but it can be used at any stage of lactation. This massage can also help clear blocked ducts, reduce engorgement, and prevent mastitis.

Similar to hand-expressing milk, lactation massage involves gentle techniques on the breast or chest while breastfeeding or pumping to keep milk flowing. It’s also called “hands-on pumping” when done with a pump. Lactation massage can be done between feedings to ease breast pain or discomfort.
