8 Mom And Daughter Matchy-Matchy Fashion Looks To Try

Want to match your daughter but don't want to wear the same dress exactly? Try these tips from these celeb moms.

They say one of the joys of having a daughter is being able to play dress up. Based on these stylish girl-mom celebs, it's true. Matching your daughter doesn't have to be wearing the exact same dress if that's not your style. Take your cues from Anne Curtis, Marian Rivera, and Sofia Andres—and the likes of Sunshine Cruz and Ruffa Gutierrez if your girls are older.

May your fashion be a fun bonding experience for you and your daughters!

Mom and daughter matching styles

1. Anne Curtis and Dahlia

Now that Anne Curtis and Erwan Heussasff’s daughter Dahlia is a preschooler, we see that she loves wearing costumes and playing dress up. Even when she’s exploring the great outdoors with her parents at a recent trip to Australia, she’s given the freedom to wear costumes. But we also see her matching Anne’s style slightly, like in this photo where they both don floral dresses.

Tip: If full on matchy-matchy isn’t your style, you can follow a theme like floral prints.

2. Sofia Andres and Zoe

Sofia Andres and daughter Zoe don’t appear to prefer matchy-matchy, with Zoe often wearing age-appropriate and comfortable clothes. Try wearing the same hues but in cuts and styles that suit each person. Here, Sofia wears a sweet pea blue dress accessorized with a black blazer while Zoe wears the same shade but in a Sunday dress and sandals.

You can also wear similar accessories, like matching bucket hats.

3. Elisse Joson and Felize

Elisse Joson and Felize have mastered the mom-and-daughter dressing, with Felize often wearing hues and tones similar to mom’s OOTD. In this unique runway moment, the mom and daughter duo walk the runway for fashion designer Julianne Syjuco in sequined numbers. Felize’s dress features tulle, to make it toddler-friendly while Elisse wears a bodycon cutout with a fringe skirt.

On their regular days, Elisse and Felize sometimes wear color-coordinated looks that still stays true to what they need: a bib for Felize and a pair of sunglasses and two bags for mommy Elisse. We know: one for the essentials and the bigger one to dump all the mommy needs in!

4. Ruffa Gutierrez and Venice and Lorin

We wouldn’t be surprised if Ruffa Gutierrez and daughters Lorin and Venice have reached the stage of sharing clothes and accessories. Something to look forward to if you’re a girl mom! Surely Ruffa’s love for fashion has rubbed off on both her girls who each have a distinct sense of personal style, unique to themselves.

5. Mariel Padilla and Isabella and Gabriela

For special occasions, Mariel Padilla often dresses her daughters Isabella and Gabriela in matching outfits. But she also allows them to wear clothes that prioritize comfort, especially on days when they’ll be busy and active like exploring Disneyland. For our Smart Parenting November 2023 cover shoot, the girls wore matching dresses in the same color palette as mom Mariel’s.

Try: If you have more than one daughter, let them wear similar dresses while mom wears cuts that flatter your body but in the same color palette.

6. Sunshine Cruz and Angel, Sam and Chesca

Here’s a masterclass in dressing in coordinating styles and colors. Sunshine Cruz is sometimes (that’s an understatement) bashed for dressing in outfits that any of her three daughters Angelina, Sam, and Chesca would wear but we stand on momma Sunshine on this one. If it makes you happy, wear it!

“I don't think may chart ang attire according to age, she replied to a basher on her social media in 2022. “Basta happy at confident, go lang po. Walang bawal at masama.” She advises women, “Ladies! Wear clothes that make you happy and feel pretty. That's all that matters.”

More than being comfortable playing with fashion, we love that her three daughters exude the same positive aura she does.

Try: Have fun with fashion, especially if your daughters are old enough to share clothes and accessories with. Don’t let your age and thoughts of judgment influence your choices. If you want to wear it, wear it!

6. Marian Rivera and Zia

Preview’s first-ever Style Icon awardee Marian Rivera matches daughter Zia in the cutest ways. For New Year’s, they both wore polka dots in black and white but Zia wore larger prints while Marian wore daintier ones. Last year, it was the reverse. The mother and daughter duo have also gone matchy-matchy but with their hairstyles rather than with their fashion.

Try: Find creative ways to match your daughter if she doesn’t want to wear the same clothes as you. Try similar hairstyles, accessories, bags, or shoes.

8. Andi Manzano-Reyes and Olivia, Amelia, and Lucia

Got tres marias like Andi Manzano? This mom of three chooses the same dresses for her older daughters Olivia and Amelia while Lucia often wore onesies when she was an infant. Now that Lucia’s turning a year old, she wears dresses in the same shade as her older sisters and mom Andi wears the same.

Try: Stick to wearing the same color when your kids are of different age ranges. Pick a color that’s easy to find with different brands, like whites, neutrals, pinks, or blues.
