Now that summer season is officially here, most families have the same thing on their mind: travel. But there’s a particularly daunting task that can leave us feeling anxious and that is flying in a plane with children.
We’ve heard horror stories and maybe experienced some ourselves before becoming parents and we wonder, how can I avoid disturbing other people on the plane while ensuring that my child’s in-flight experience is good or at the very least, tolerable?
This must be why when actress Maris Racal posted photos of herself babysitting an infant during a recent flight to Manila, parents were quick to react: tama behavior!
She wrote, “nagpadede, nagpatulog, at naging instant ina po tayo sa biyaheng pa Manila.
“When I saw na may baby akong katabi, my heart leaped out of my chest. Idk but i just love babies and i love baby sitting huhu!
Maris says her seat was next to a fellow Filipina who appears to have been flying with her infant child. As parents know, it can be overwhelming to fly alone with a child like an infant who likely will be held or seated with you throughout the flight as children younger than two years old don’t have a seat on the plane.
The actress just returned from a trip to Italy where she attended the Udine Far East Film Festival 2023 to represent “Where Is The Life” by Quark Henares. Maris headlines the film together with EJ Jallorina and Royce Cabrera.
“Glad to have helped a kababayan Mom during this trip! Yes masaya po ang tulog niya! See last photo. so happy i met these two beautiful people!” Maris wrote.
Social media users replied to Maris’ post saying the young actress surely helped the mom get some rest. “As a first time mom, ang saya na may tutulong mag baby sit”, wrote a netizen.
New mom friends and fellow actresses Angelica Panganiban and Iza Calzado were quick to line up their daughters in Maris’ inadvertent babysitting services. “Paki alagaan si bean”, wrote Angelica to which Maris replied, “MY PLEASURE”.
Iza Calzado on the other hand wrote, “Deia already in line for your next available time for baby duties”.
For any parent who is anxious about the challenges of traveling and expects it to be hard on us, a passenger like Maris Racal is a godsend! May there be more airline passengers like you who are ready to offer a parent a helping hand during possible tough moments.
