Andi Eigenmann on the Road to Postpartum Fitness: 'My Own Fitspiration Is Myself'Andi Eigenmann will soon start her “project comeback” via a holistic health and fitness program.by Rachel Perez .
Andi Eigenmann is sending herself some motivation to stay positive and on track with her back-to-fitness journey after childbirth. Her fitspiration? No one else but herself.
“I’ve been browsing through my old photos for a little inspiration… to ease my way back into my old fitness habits!” Andi wrote on Instagram as a caption for a photo of herself atop a summit overlooking a lake. The island-living mama explained that “it’s not about achieving the body that someone else has” but “about achieving the best body you can give yourself.”
Andi also acknowledged that she may never look exactly the same way she as she did in the photo. Pregnancy and childbirth can change a woman’s body in many ways.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOWCONTINUE READING BELOWRecommended Videos
“But I remember being happy with the way I look in this pic, and this isn’t even at my peak. That’s how looking at old pics of myself motivates me. I don’t just see the body, I remember the feeling as well, and it excites me to feel the same way again,” she said.
Andi gave birth to her second daughter, Lilo, on July 23, 2019, and she has been candid about not feeling herself and her experience with postpartum depression (PPD). She and her family have returned to their island home, in Siargao, which she believes can help her cope better with PPD.
The part-time actress and full-time holistic mermaid mama has not been slacking on physical activity, yet she is also careful not to overexert herself. Andi has started swimming in the ocean since her postpartum vaginal discharge had stopped – yes, she got her doctor’s go-ahead to do so. She also did a quick low-intensity CS-friendly work-out routine.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
On Tuesday, September 3, 2019, she’ll be six weeks postpartum, the earliest time doctors typically allow moms who have given birth, whether via vaginal birth or C-section, to start working out. She’s adopting Sarah’s Day, a fitness program designed by Australian holistic health and fitness guru and mom Sarah Stevenson.ADVERTISEMENT - CONTINUE READING BELOW
Andi has been documenting and sharing her postpartum body transformation since day 1 after her C-section. “Can’t wait to share with you what I will be doing to get back in shape!” she said. Andi also reminded fellow moms that each preggo is different, just as every pregnancy is unique, and to always consult your doctor before doing any post-birth exercises.
