Angelica Panganiban is every new mom who is cherishing all her baby's milestones and taking them all in. After all, time flies so fast!
Recently, the Homans went on their first plane ride as a family going to Palawan.
In a series of Instagram posts, the proud mama shared how they were able to have a stress-free experience, with their 5-month-old baby Amila Sabine in tow.
The actress said, "Walang iyak ang baby namin sa buong plane ride back and forth. Kaya, syempre ako na naman ang umiyak sa milestone na ito." Read about Bean's other milestones that made this new mama cry here and here.
If you are planning to fly with an infant for the first time, remember that experts advise that babies should be around 3 to 6 months old already. According to Very Well Family, this age is recommended because they have already started or completed their primary immunizations by this time.
Here are some travel tips that we took note of based from Angelica's experience.

Tips on your first plane ride with an infant
1. Look for a child-friendly airline
What we are getting from this mama is to find an airline that ticks all the boxes when it comes to flying with little kids. "From the smoothest check-in experience, cleanliness of their lounge, spacious cabin with free snacks and water, and excellent landing experience, it's a 10 for us," she wrote.
Before booking your tickets, check for reviews online and ask parenting communities like the Smart Parenting Village about their experience with the different airlines. This is so that you can already manage your expectations before your flight day.

2. Breastfeeding during flight helps
As a proud padede mom, Angelica is always ready with a cloth or nursing cover and comfy breastfeeding clothes so that she can offer her boob to Bean whenever she gets fussy. Breastfeeding in flight helps calm your baby, and moms like Isabelle Daza can attest to this.
3. Take note of the essentials
As much as we want to bring your whole house to make sure you don't forget anything, just take note of these travel essentials for you and your baby that you might want to place in a bag within your reach:
- Diapers
- Wet wipes
- Two bibs
- Change of clothes for your baby
- Change of clothes for you
- Large resealable bags for soiled clothes
- Baby food (if above 6 months)
- Favorite soft toys or books
- Hand sanitizer
4. Give yourself some grace
No matter how much preparation and planning you put in your first plane ride with your baby, there will be unforeseen events and it's okay. Unlike Angelica, maybe your child will cry during the flight, and you're going to be fine. Trust that you will figure it out when it happens because that's how we parents do it - we wing it one challenge, one experience at a time.
