  • Divine Lee believes that “happy mommy is the best for babies.” That’s why she continues to value self-care while taking care of her and her husband Blake Go’s kids, Baz and Blanca. Baz turns 2 in May 2020, while Blanca was born last October 2019.

“I still make an effort to really take some time for myself daily,” she told SmartParenting.com.ph in an email interview. “As everyone knows from my IG (Instagram), I stick to my skincare routine every morning and evening. It’s a few minutes, but it’s something that makes me feel good about myself.”

The entrepreneur, who’s also an event host and blogger, went back to her old beauty routine right after giving birth to her second child. She would pump breast milk days in advance, so she could get the nonsurgical skin treatment called Ulthera. But she still takes extra care to avoid certain strong products to steer clear of complications while she is breastfeeding.

Aside from regular facial, Divine gets Cosmellan, a skin depigmentation treatment. But when she wants to give her skin an extra boost, she goes for beauty drips. She steers clear, however, of glutathione because she wants to maintain a tan-looking complexion. She also makes it a point to get Botox regularly to prevent lines appearing on her face.

Divine is used to trying out new beauty products and mixing up her routine. But she strongly advises consulting a doctor before trying out a new beauty product or treatment.

To energize her skin, Divine uses the Iskin line of products “because it has a bit of peeling and brightening” properties.

“Then after I finish the set I go back to my commercial brands,” she said. “If I totally want to jumpstart my skin, I also do Cosmellan through Flawless [Face and Body Clinic] but there’s some downtime because you peel. But it’s a faster way than waiting for your routine to take effect.”

On a daily basis, this mom of two opts for makeup that doubles as skincare products, such as La Mer or Tata Harper. She only gets all fixed up when she’s attending a special event where she allots at least 30 to 45 minutes to do her hair and makeup.

“Naging nanay lang ako, kikay pa rin ako,” she declared. “The trends changed na rin naman. Before uso smokey and super made up face so that takes longer. The dewy natural look in trend now is faster and easier to do. All you need is a good base that’s why skincare is a must.”

When asked for tips for the simplest makeup routine for moms, Divine replied that age and breastfeeding should be considered. She suggests using a cleanser (she goes for Iskin from Flawless); toner (her preferred brand is Biologique Richerche p50); cream for morning use (she favors the La Mer cooling gel); and serum at night (she’s partial to the Genaissance line of La Mer). Sunblock is a must, too, and she swears by the Kiehl’s label.
