If you think only moms who have certain privileges can achieve a fit body postpartum, think again. With the right amount of motivation and vision for yourself, you can achieve a healthy and fit body.
Whether you are a working mom or a stay-at-home mom, you can choose to be fit.
New mom and actress Jessy Mendiola shared on Instagram in July why she's determined to work out. It's not only to bring her pre-mom body back, but it's for a greater purpose.
Here's why moms should strive to become fit and healthy.
Why start your postpartum fitness journey
1. Stay fit so you can take care of your children.
"I realized that the reason I want to stay fit and healthy is to be able to take care of my daughter, not to get back into size XS," Jessy revealed in a now deleted post.
She added, "She's growing each day, and I have to keep up. I want to be able to run and carry her without catching my breath. The abs and cuts are only perks that come with it."
As moms, we know how motherhood can be tiring and draining. Imagine all the latching, carrying, or chasing after our kids! Staying fit, however, could be the best gift you can give to yourself and to your children. That's why we should strive to be healthier and more active to sustain our lifestyle as mothers.

2. Staying fit has a significant impact on your mental health.
Jessy shared how she underwent postpartum depression because of her transition to motherhood. Working out or doing simple exercises daily will help you sloain your confidence as a new mom.
She shared, "We will always have insecurities, that's a given. But once you acknowledge the strength of carrying a life inside of you for nine months, giving birth and caring for your baby WHILE recovering is definitely amazing."

3. Staying fit will strengthen your new body.
"The goal is not to "bounce" back, the real aim is to strengthen your new body. The same body that gave you the greatest blessing you'll ever have," Jessy added.
We agree with Jessy that the best gift we could give our children is a mom with a healthy mind and body.
