Nearly five years after Kris Aquino was diagnosed with chronic spontaneous urticaria, the actress-TV and mom of two has been found to be suffering from a few more autoimmune disorders.
These include autoimmune thyroiditis and vasculitis. The type of vasculitis she has is the rare one, formerly known as Churg Strauss Syndrome and now called EGPA.
Kris has since been undergoing treatment in the Philippines, Singapore, and the United States. She recently applied for an extension of her U.S. visa (read here), as well as the travel papers of her sons Josh and Bimby, so she could continue her treatment.
For instance, she finally had a face-to-face consultation with a doctor, she said in her latest Instagram post, who is "considered among the BEST."
Kris explained, "I know I made the right choice because after months of uncertainty, he gave someone like me, suffering from multiple autoimmune conditions the most important element needed: the renewed confidence to HOPE that although it will be a long process, i do have a strong chance of getting better."
She then used the hashtags #faithful #grateful.
Indeed, Kris is grateful for all those who continue to pray for her. She's especially grateful to those who fly all the way from the Philippines to the U.S. to personally visit and accompany her and her sons to her checkups. One of these people is fashion designer Michael Leyva, who she also calls "the original M.L. in my life."
Kris narrated how she first met and became close friends with Michaell: "Little did I know, July of 2015- I’d make a lifelong, LOYAL friend and for Kuya Josh & Bimb to have an adopted kuya…

She added, "Super appreciated ko that you never fail to mention that I was one of the people who helped open the door for you- pero dapat malaman ng lahat you won’t be who you are NOW kung hindi ka creative, super sipag, always pleasant, still humble, kusang matulungin, concerned sa welfare ng employees mo and mapagmahal sa pamilya."
Yet despite her health concerns, Kris still fulfilled her promised to Josh for them to visit Disneyland.
