The Medical City (TMC) has launched a new program called “Lab on Wheels,” which will allow people to take laboratory tests right in their home without having to go to the hospital.
In a Facebook post, TMC announced that under the program, skilled medical technologists will come to homes in Metro Manila to collect samples that will be tested at TMC’s clinical laboratory.

Those who will avail of TMC’s Lab on Wheels program are people with routine diagnostic laboratory procedure requirements who live in Metro Manila, newly-discharged patients who are under monitoring, and elderly, immune-compromised, and bedridden patients who need to remain at home.
The tests that you can book under this service include hematology, blood chemistry, serological testing, and microscopy. In a news release, TMC emphasizes, “COVID-19-related testing is not part of this service as it is still recommended that the samples be collected in a closed, controlled environment to limit cross-infection.”
During the home visit, the staff who will perform specimen collections will be dressed in personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect themselves and the customers. They will also inform customers of the preparation guidelines they need to take before the home visit.
A TMC laboratory representative will ask you about your preferred means to get your test results (email, fax, or pick-up). You will be able to receive your official receipt along with your results.
