Angelica and Gregg: cakes galore

Angelica Panganiban and her partner Gregg Homan made public the gender of their first child through their YouTube channel, The Homans. In a vlog posted in June, the couple shared the actress's ultrasound test that revealed a baby girl.

After their checkup, the couple headed to a restaurant, where they had arranged for an intimate gender reveal get-together with their family members and close friends. They had two cakes made for the occasion, both with white frosting but different fillings. They cut the one with a pink filling. (Read the full story here.)

Rocco and Melissa: a balloon and a cake

On the day actor Rocco Nacino and her athlete-wife Melissa Gohing held their gender reveal party in June, the bad weather forced them to change locations. They moved from the original site outside their house to a spot inside it.

"Tyaga na lang sa paglinis after," Rocco wrote in an Instagram post. That's because they used lots of blue confetti to indicate that they're having a baby boy. On the unmessy and sugary side, they cut a cake to reveal a blue filling to emphasize the gender of their first child. (Read the full story here.)

Rocco and Melissa's son Ezren Raffaello arrived on October 9 (read the story here).

Jessy and Luis: small details, big impact

Aside from the usual balloons and confetti, there were little accents used at Jessy Mendiola and Luis Manzano's gender reveal party in August that emphasized they were having a baby girl. Then there were the warm speeches, such as the one given by Luis's mother, the Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos (read here).

Danica and Marc: basketball inspired

The choice of theme for Danica Sotto and Marc Pingris's gender reveal party in September revolved around the sport that made Marc a household name.

Their guests were then made to choose between free throws or pretty bows. The retired Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) standout delivered the news in a slamdunk. (Read the full story here.)
